Release: ACPeds (20 GB)
Video, meeting minutes, and passwords for the American College of Paediatricians, a lobby group and plaintiff in the U.S. Supreme Court case seeking to ban the abortion pill Mifepristone
We are publishing torrents to a leak from the American College of Pediatricians, a far-right lobby group that seeks to outlaw access to abortion and trans health care in the United States and around the world. ACPeds is designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
As reported by Wired magazine, the dataset includes:
Nearly 10,000 files, some of which are compressed zip files containing additional documents … internal information about ACPeds’ donors and taxes, social security numbers of board members, staff resignation letters, budgetary and fundraising concerns, and the usernames and passwords of more than 100 online accounts. The files include Powerpoint presentations, Quickbooks accounting documents, and at least 388 spreadsheets … an export of an internal database containing information on 1,200 past and current members … contact details, as well as where they were educated, how they heard of the group, and when membership dues were paid. The records show past and current members are mostly male and, on average, over 50 years old.
Others have reported that “in 2014 and 2017, ACPeds applied to be an Amazon Smile charity, but was rejected as they are considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Following this, they took part in an effort to discredit and pressure Amazon to disassociate from the SPLC.”
We have archived the 20 GB leak covered in Wired magazine, as well as an additional 11.8 MB dataset consisting of SQL databases and emails estimated to be from 2017, on our data server. We called this additional data “ACPeds-Supplement.tar” on the data server.
