Limited distribution: Apex Mobile (25 GB)
The suite of apps is marketed to police departments in Canada and the United States for evidence gathering
25 GB from Apex Mobile, a set of apps used by "over 150 civic, law enforcement and fire agencies across the US and Canada" for reporting and collecting information. Notable clients appear to include Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, and the Phoenix Police Department.
The data includes over 36,000 reports, 18,000 images, and at least 15,000 messages. It is largely unsorted, with much of the information contained in .csv files. A .csv file called “users.csv” includes 1,500 entries including email addresses for members of police departments in Edmonton, Winnipeg, Niagara, and Medicine Hat.
Due to presence of PII, the Apex Mobile data is only being made available to journalists and researchers.
People with a background of publishing their research can get in touch. Please include in your request enough information to verify yourself, such as links to previously published stories. We give priority to requests from researchers and journalists who publish without a paywall, and who have a history of studying leaked datasets.
